An interesting antique signet ring. The ring is principally set with a 17th century banded agate intaglio depicting Augusts, the adopted son of Julius Caesar. The detail and depth of the intaglio is exceptional. The intaglio is set into a later, probably 1850, 18ct yellow gold mount.
