A charming and finely made antique stickpin of French origin, dating to circa 1880 and retaining its original crisp French assay marks for 18ct gold. Designed as a three-leaf clover — a classic lucky motif — the three leaves are each set with a pear cut emerald of an estimated 0.5 carats in total, exceptionally well matched for colour and clarity. The emeralds are framed by a border of eight-cut diamonds set in silver on gold, their bright white providing a crisp contrast to the deep green of the stones. In excellent condition throughout.
A beautifully resolved and wearable antique stickpin — the trefoil clover is one of the most enduring of all lucky motifs, and a French-hallmarked example in emerald and diamond of this quality and condition is a genuinely fine find.
