A commanding and exceptional ring, designed by Matthew Wildsmith and handcrafted by our master artisans, centred on a magnificent oval Ceylon sapphire of 4.76 carats. Ceylon — now Sri Lanka — is the world's most celebrated source of sapphires, producing stones of an extraordinary cornflower blue with a characteristic velvety depth and brilliance that is simply unmatched by sapphires from any other origin. Ceylon sapphires have adorned the finest jewellery in the world for centuries, and a stone of this size and quality is a genuinely rare acquisition. The sapphire is set in an elegant talon claw setting in 18ct yellow gold — the warmth of the gold intensifying the blue of the stone — flanked by a pair of trapeze-cut diamonds of 0.97 carats, their clean geometric form providing a sophisticated architectural frame. The band is further adorned with a refined border of brilliant-cut diamonds, an additional 1 carat of stones, bringing the total diamond weight to approximately 1.97 carats.
Hallmarked 18ct Wildsmith Jewellery. Ring size N½ UK, with resizing available on request. A ring of extraordinary presence and gemological significance — a piece designed to be worn for a lifetime and passed down through generations.
