A magnificent and substantial pair of 1980s drop earrings in 18ct yellow gold, each suspending two South Sea pearls of 11.5–12mm from fine gold mesh wires with diamond-set cap detail. The double pearl drops are surmounted by a three-row diamond bar, and the diamond caps to each pearl add further brilliance throughout. Across the pair, 82 diamonds total an estimated 1.15 carats. At 19.8g and approximately 5.7cm in length, these are earrings of exceptional presence and weight — the gold mesh wires giving them a fluid, luxurious movement that is very much of their decade. Fitted with post and sprung clip fittings, suitable for pierced and non-pierced ears. Hallmarked 18K and 750.
