A magnificent and boldly sculptural French brooch in 18ct yellow gold, c.1970, bearing the French eagle head assay mark for 18ct gold. The organic form is constructed from intertwined gold wire set throughout with diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds — a vivid and richly coloured combination that gives the piece an almost jewelled garden quality. At 35.4g and approximately 5cm in diameter, this is a brooch of exceptional weight and presence. Condition is excellent. Fitted with a double pin and safety catch. A truly statement piece of French mid-century goldsmithing.
