A fine pair of vintage Tiffany & Co cufflinks in 18ct gold, c.1960, with oval faces worked in a dimple pattern and figure-of-eight swivel fittings. The dimple pattern — a regular field of small, precisely formed concave depressions across the face of the cufflink — is a characteristically Tiffany approach to surface decoration: understated in concept, demanding in execution, the effect depending entirely on the quality of the gold and the precision of the tooling. Mid-century Tiffany & Co gold cufflinks are among the most collectible of the house's men's jewellery, the 18ct gold standard and the quality of the making placing them well above the mass-produced cufflinks of the period.
