Over two centuries old and in excellent condition, these Georgian drop earrings have the presence of a truly special find. Dating to around 1810, their long, cascading tiers bring together richly textured goldwork, delicate filigree and tiny gold balls. Above each drop, a trefoil of gold balls completes a design that is as compelling up close as it is from across the room.
Their fully articulated construction gives the drops beautiful movement when worn. At 6.8cm from the lobe, they frame the face and give even a simple neckline a sense of occasion. Large shepherd’s-hook fittings complete the pair, and the gold tests as 18ct.
